he's been rolling back protections, banning trans people from the military (again) , letting healthcare providers refuse treatment to us, and even attacking LGBTQ+ education and the arts.... like, this dude is going full 1950s.. raaaAAAAA

he basically let docs and insurance companies say 'nah ur on ur own buddyy' if they don’t wanna treat trans people. so if you’re trans and need hormones, surgery, or just basic-ass medical care? tough luck. and let’s not forget the mental health crisis that’s just gonna get worse bc of this.
education?? ruined.
he banned trans girls from sports and is making schools erase LGBTQ+ topics from the curriculum. kids can’t even learn about their own identities anymore. like, how is this helping anyone? oh wait, it’s not. it’s just making life harder for queer kids.
even the arts aren’t safe??
his administration cut funding for LGBTQ+ arts programs, which means projects that tell our stories are getting axed andn thrown off the field., c*nsorship at its finest.. dude really wants us to just disappear .
so what do we do?
first off, stay informed and call this bs out whenever you can. second, support LGBTQ+ organisations that are fighting back. and if you can vote (or will be able to soon), MAKE SURE YOU DO. this shit is happening bc people let it happen.

i know i'll be jumped for posting this, but i have to talk about this. goguardian is literal fucking spyware and should be illegal.
let me explain!!
for years my school and many'a other schools alike have been using the piece of shit spyware 'goguardian' -- which is used to 'monitor student activity and protect them from unsafe content' but i believe it's WAY more than just that.. goguardian is blocking benign content and putting students at risk. im not the only one who knows about these issues.

like let’s be real here. goguardian isn't just monitoring what you do in class, it’s spying on you outside of it too. it has access to your searches, location... even your webcam. yeah, you read that right -- teachers can view students' webcams without their consent,,, creepy, right? it's like they're trying to make us all feel like prisoners
and don’t get me started on the bullshit it flags as 'unsafe content',, wanna read about sexual health, mental health, or even the lgbtq+ community? sorry, you're flagged as a dangerous individual and should stay 259599518513985185.9999 miles away from children!!!! like, what the fuck? this is about control, not protection. students are being punished for wanting to learn about their own lives and well-being!! like what the fuck?!?!?!??

it's not just creepy, it’s also borderline illegal. the coppa law is supposed to protect children’s privacy online. but guess what? schools are essentially working with companies like goguardian to bypass those protections. i mean, how is that even legal????????? isn’t the point of privacy laws to keep your info from being exploited by creepy corporations?? this surveillance shit has gone too far. we shouldn’t be ok with our schools spying on us. you want to block 'unsafe' content? cool. but stop invading our personal lives. It’s one thing to monitor what happens on school property, but monitoring what happens when we’re at home is downright wrong (practically STALKING)
and the way they advertise it? like it’s supposed to be comforting. 'Oh, we’re just making sure you’re safe' nah, you're making us all feel like criminals in a system that’s supposed to teach us.. if they cared about our well-being, they wouldn’t be exploiting our data for profit. schools should be teaching us how to think, not making us paranoid that everything we do online is being watched

we need to talk about this. goguardian and all this other spying software need to be banned or AT THE VERY LEAST, regulated. the fact that it's allowed to operate this way is disgusting ,, students should not be living in fear of their privacy being violated and we shouldn’t be the ones footing the bill for the tech companies to exploit our lives!
if you're a student reading this, know that you’re not alone. if you're a parent, don’t just trust the system, look into what your kids are dealing with. we’re the future, and we shouldn’t be treated like lab rats in some fucked-up experiment.
